UNIVERSITY OF THEATRE AND FILM in Budapest
The school has been founded in 1865 as the Actors Academy. In 1883 it became the National Hungarian Royal Theatre Academy. In 1948 it received its current name and has had university status since 1986.
Wide range of courses is taught by the elite of Hungarian theatre and film professionals. The faculty members include experienced filmmakers, many of them are Oscar winners or nomiees: István Stabó, Lajos Koltai, Károly Makk. The University consist of the Theatre, Film and Academic Faculties. The Faculty of Theatre is further divided into the following branches: the drama course, the operette-musical course, the puppetry course, and the stage directing course. The results of students work are presented in the 340-seat Theatre Ódry.
